Terms of Service
Last updated: September 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and BitReports ("BitReports", "we", "us") covering your use of the BitReports website, applications, and reporting services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
BitReports turns transaction history and portfolio data into performance reports and tax-year reports for crypto holdings, and into portfolio analysis for stock holdings. Reports are generated from the data you supply and from third-party market data. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data you provide.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Service. Account sign-in is handled by Auth0; you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Accounts are for a single user and may not be shared or resold. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Plans and Access
The Service is offered on two separate product lines, each purchased on its own:
- Crypto Reports — a Basic (free) tier, plus Standard and Pro plans purchased for a specific tax year.
- Stock Reports — Standard and Pro plans sold as monthly subscriptions, each including a set number of portfolio runs per month.
Buying a plan on one product line does not grant access to the other. New accounts may receive a limited number of free Stock Reports runs to trial the feature; free runs carry no purchase obligation and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
4. Payments and Billing
Prices are shown on our Plans page and are stated in the currency displayed at checkout. By purchasing a plan you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the amounts described below.
4.1 Crypto Reports plans are a one-time purchase per tax year
Crypto Reports Standard and Pro are one-time purchases covering a single tax year. They are not subscriptions: nothing renews automatically, and you are not charged again unless you choose to buy a plan for another tax year.
- Upgrades. You may move from Standard to Pro at any time during the tax year you have purchased. An upgrade is charged at the full difference between the two plan prices, with no proration, because the larger plan covers that same tax year in full however late in the year you upgrade. The upgrade takes effect once payment is received, and it applies to the tax year you already purchased rather than starting a new one.
- No downgrades. Because the plan is bought outright for a tax year, it cannot be changed to a smaller or free plan once purchased. There is no unused time to return and no partial credit. Your plan remains available for the tax year you bought it for.
4.2 Stock Reports plans are monthly subscriptions
Stock Reports Standard and Pro are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until you cancel. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of portfolio runs, which resets at the start of every billing period. Unused runs do not carry over.
- Upgrades. Moving to a higher tier mid-cycle is charged immediately at the price difference prorated over the days remaining in the current billing period. Your new tier and its larger allowance apply as soon as that payment is received.
- Downgrades. Moving to a lower tier takes effect at the start of your next billing period. The current period has already been paid for at the higher tier, so you keep that tier, its price, and its run allowance until the period ends. No credit or partial refund is issued for the current period. A scheduled change is shown in your account under Plan, along with the date it takes effect, and can be cancelled before it lands by re-selecting your current plan.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; your subscription and its allowance continue until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
4.3 Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Your use of Stripe's checkout is also subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
4.4 Failed payments
If a subscription payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend or downgrade access to the affected product line until payment succeeds. Keeping your payment details current is your responsibility.
4.5 Price changes
We may change our prices. A price change never affects a Crypto Reports plan you have already purchased, and for Stock Reports subscriptions it takes effect no earlier than your next billing period after we notify you. Continuing to use a subscription after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.
4.6 Taxes
Prices exclude any sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar taxes unless stated otherwise. Where we are required to collect such taxes, they are added at checkout and shown before you pay.
5. Refund Policy
Refunds are accepted if all of the below conditions are met:
- You make the refund request to info@bitreports.io within 7 days of making the purchase.
- Your reasons for a refund are related to a bug or issue with our software that we are unable to resolve within a reasonable time.
- You have not generated any reports.
Requests that do not meet all three conditions are not eligible. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law that applies to you.
6. Your Data
You keep ownership of the transaction data, exchange exports, and other content you upload. You grant us the limited right to store and process that content for the purpose of operating the Service, generating your reports, and providing support. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, available on the Privacy Policy tab of this page.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service to break the law; upload data you have no right to use; attempt to access another user's account or data; probe, scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the Service; resell or redistribute reports as your own product; or interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or its infrastructure.
8. No Tax, Legal, Financial, or Investment Advice
BitReports is a reporting tool, not a tax preparer, accountant, broker, or financial adviser. Reports, calculations, cost-basis figures, portfolio analyses, and optimizer output are informational only and are generated from the data you supply. They are not tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any asset. You are solely responsible for reviewing every report for accuracy before relying on it, for what you file with any tax authority, and for any investment decision you make. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction before filing or investing. Past performance shown in any report does not indicate future results.
9. Third-Party Data and Services
The Service depends on third parties, including Auth0 for authentication, Stripe for payments, and external market and pricing data sources. Third-party data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect, and third-party services may be unavailable. We are not responsible for the accuracy of data we receive from these sources or for interruptions they cause.
10. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance that makes the Service temporarily unavailable. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature you have purchased, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, interfaces, report templates, and branding, is owned by BitReports and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is in good standing. Reports we generate for you are yours to use for your own purposes, including filing your taxes.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that reports will be free of inaccuracies, or that any report will be accepted by a tax authority.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BitReports is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, tax penalties, interest, or investment losses, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold BitReports harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Payments and Billing, Refund Policy, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification — survive.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will be brought to your attention. Continuing to use the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Province/State, Country], without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and you and BitReports submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms, billing, or a refund request: info@bitreports.io, or use our Contact Us form.
